Advocacy for Social Justice in Southwest Somalia
Advocacy is a central pillar of SWASS’s mission. Our work goes beyond service delivery—we actively engage in initiatives that promote social justice, equality, and human rights throughout Southwest State.
In recent months, SWASS has organized forums and community awareness campaigns to highlight issues affecting vulnerable populations. These activities bring together policymakers, community leaders, social workers, and civil society organizations to discuss solutions and develop inclusive policies.
Our advocacy efforts also focus on decolonizing social work practice by strengthening African ethics, promoting indigenous knowledge, and ensuring that families and communities maintain their vital roles in providing social support.
Through sustained engagement and partnerships, SWASS aims to influence policy, enhance social protection systems, and ensure that the voices of marginalized groups are heard and represented.
